Chaim Jeshurun is the kind of man who quietly turns compassion into action. Living in Stockholm, Sweden, he spends much of his spare time working with several NGOs, driven by a deep belief that even small efforts can change lives. He is employed as a Service technician for medical equipment otherwise. While many people speak about helping others, Chaim consistently chooses to act—organizing support, raising awareness, and reaching out to those who need it most.
Through his work and the strength of his personal social network, Chaim has helped people facing poverty and hardship in places such as Israel, Yemen, Morocco, Ethiopia, and Ghana. In addition to coordinating support and raising awareness, he has also contributed financially to humanitarian efforts in these countries. For him, charity is not a distant idea—it is a personal responsibility. He believes that dignity and opportunity should not depend on geography, and his efforts reflect a sincere commitment to uplifting others wherever they may be.
Beyond financial support, Chaim has also contributed in practical ways. He has distributed various foreign tree, bush, vegetable, and fruit seeds to many kibbutsim in the State of Israel, supporting local cultivation and agricultural diversity. In addition, he has donated books to a library, reflecting his belief that access to knowledge and education is an essential part of strengthening communities.
Alongside his humanitarian work, Chaim is currently having a book written about his life. The book will explore the hardships and injustices he has faced over the years, offering readers an honest account of the challenges that shaped him. Rather than allowing those experiences to harden him, Chaim has chosen to transform them into motivation to help others who may be struggling.
His decision to become involved in NGOs grew naturally from the work he had already been doing informally—connecting people, offering support, and mobilizing help for families in need. What began as personal acts of kindness gradually developed into a broader mission to build structures that could reach even more people.
At home, Chaim shares his life with his Ghanaian wife, whose perspective and cultural roots bring additional depth to their shared commitment to community and compassion. Together, they form a partnership grounded in empathy, resilience, and a shared belief in helping those who have been overlooked.
In many ways, Chaim Jeshurun’s story is still unfolding. Between his and his wife’s and their NGO’s members humanitarian work and the book being written about his life, he continues to turn personal trials into a source of purpose—demonstrating that even in the face of injustice, it is possible to respond with generosity, courage, and hope.

Melaku Molla Demillew

In the city of Gondar in Ethiopia lives a man named Melaku Molla Demillew. His Hebrew first name is Shedeour. Shedeour was born on August 27, 1980. His life has been very hard, but his story is also about courage, faith, and the kindness that people can show to each other.
Shedeour grew up poor, and most of his life he has not had many chances to improve his situation. Even so, he has always tried to keep learning and searching for meaning in life. Like many people, he wanted to understand God better. During that journey, he began to learn about Judaism. This path was very important to him, but it also brought challenges, because some members of his family did not understand or accept his choice.
At one point, a family member hurt him very badly and kicked out his front teeth. After that, other relatives also turned against him when he turned away from their Christianity to learn from Judaism. This left Shedeour feeling very alone and made life even more difficult for him.
Today, Shedeour still faces many struggles. He does not have a permanent home, and he has no wife or children. Life in Gondar and the areas around it can sometimes be dangerous. People there sometimes witness kidnappings, robberies, and even killings. Shedeour himself was once robbed and beaten, which made his situation even harder.
But even when life is difficult, there can still be kindness and hope. One person whom has helped Shedeour is Chaim Jeshurun. For more than eight years, Chaim Jeshurun has supported him, including by giving financial help and encouragement. That support has helped Shedeour keep going during very difficult times.
Shedeour’s story shows that even when someone faces many hardships, they can still hold on to their faith and hope. It also reminds us that a single act of kindness can make a big difference in another person’s life.

Herbert Nyarko

Herbert Nyarko is a ten year old boy who lives in Kasoa, a town in Ghana. He lives with his mom, Felicia Adoba, and his two brothers, the second brother is grown up and comes over sometimes. The children don’t have a father who cares, so their mom takes care of everything by herself.
They all share one small room next to a church. Living there is hard because the church sometimes has very loud worship services that go on all night. The music and singing come right through the wall and make it difficult for the family to sleep. Felicia would love to move somewhere quieter, but she doesn’t have enough money.
Felicia works very hard. She sells traditional Ghanaian food by the side of a road in Kasoa, but she only earns a little money each day, just enough to try to take care of her children.
Herbert has also had trouble with his eyes since he was born. A few years ago, his eyesight got worse when another child got upset and threw a rock that hit Herbert in the eye. Herbert had an operation to help, but the doctors say he needs another surgery to see much better. That surgery would cost about fifteen thousand cedis, which is far more money than his mom can afford. Recently, though, Felicia was able to buy Herbert a pair of glasses to help him see a little better.
