Projektet Ghana insamling och återanvändning av datorer och mobiltelefoner.
Chaim Jeshurun driver ett samarbetsprojekt tillsammans med en datorreparatör i Stockholm. Inom ramen för detta samarbete har en överenskommelse träffats som innebär att Chaim ansvarar för insamling av begagnade datorer. Dessa erhålls från privatpersoner som antingen avser att kassera utrustningen eller väljer att donera den.
De insamlade datorerna överlämnas därefter till samarbetspartnern, som genomför nödvändiga reparationer och uppgraderingar för att återställa deras funktionalitet och förlänga deras användningstid med flera år. Den aktuella utrustningen kan i vissa fall vara upp till cirka tjugo år gammal.
Utöver datorer avser projektet även att inkludera insamling av mobiltelefoner som inte längre används. Det kan röra sig om enklare modeller, såsom GSM-telefoner eller enheter med begränsad funktionalitet, exempelvis med stöd för enbart 2G-nätverk.
Den insamlade utrustningen transporteras till Ghana via containerfrakt, ofta i samordning med andra sändningar. Kostnaden för transport uppgår till cirka 400 kronor per flyttlåda, vilket debiteras av den aktör som ansvarar för containerhanteringen.
Personer som är intresserade av att bidra genom att donera stationära datorer, bärbara datorer eller mobiltelefoner, samt genom att stödja fraktkostnader för fattiga behövande mottagare i Ghana, uppmanas att ta kontakt med Chaim Jeshurun. Eftersom också att Sverige håller på med att göra sig av med 2G.

The Project: For Ghana Collection and Reuse of Computers and Mobile Phones.
Chaim Jeshurun leads a collaborative initiative in partnership with a computer repair technician based in Stockholm. Within the framework of this collaboration, an agreement has been established whereby Jeshurun is responsible for the collection of used computers. These devices are obtained from private individuals who either intend to discard their equipment or choose to donate it.
The collected computers are subsequently transferred to the collaborating technician, who performs the necessary repairs and upgrades to restore their functionality and extend their operational lifespan by several years. In some cases, the equipment in question may be up to approximately twenty years old.
In addition to computers, the project also encompasses the collection of mobile phones that are no longer in use. These may include basic models, such as GSM phones or devices with limited functionality, for example those supporting only 2G networks.
The collected equipment is transported to Ghana via container shipping, often coordinated with other consignments. The cost of transportation amounts to approximately SEK 400 per moving box, as charged by the party responsible for container handling.
Individuals interested in contributing by donating desktop computers, laptops, or mobile phones, as well as by supporting shipping costs for economically disadvantaged recipients in Ghana, are encouraged to contact Chaim Jeshurun. This initiative is particularly timely given that Sweden is in the process of phasing out 2G network infrastructure.
