We, the members of Krobo Odumasi Rural Farming Community in the Eastern Region of Ghana, humbly write to request the kind support of Life Can Ghana NGO.
Our community is made up of eighty (80) men, one hundred and ten (110) women, and sixty (60) children below the age of fifteen. We rely primarily on subsistence farming, cultivating crops such as maize, yam, and cassava. However, the income from these activities is minimal and insufficient to adequately support our families.
In an effort to improve our livelihoods and ensure sustainable income for our households, the community has collectively decided to venture into livestock rearing as a complementary economic activity. We strongly believe that livestock farming will significantly enhance our financial stability, especially given the fact that sheep and goats reproduce twice annually, allowing the stock to multiply within a few years for sale and income generation.
We are therefore appealing to your esteemed organization for financial support to acquire the following livestock for a start-up phase:
• Five (5) male goats at GHS 900 each: GHS 4,500
• Ten (10) female goats at GHS 800 each: GHS 8,000
• Five (5) male sheep at GHS 1,200 each: GHS 6,000
• Ten (10) female sheep at GHS 1,000 each: GHS 10,000
Additionally, the construction of appropriate housing is necessary to ensure proper care and management of the animals:
• Two livestock sheds (one for goats and one for sheep) at GHS 6,500 each: GHS 13,000
The total estimated cost for this livestock rearing project is therefore GHS 41,000.
We are confident that this project will not only improve household incomes but also enhance food security and economic resilience within our community. We assure you of our full commitment to responsibly manage and sustain this initiative for the benefit of present and future generations.
We sincerely hope our appeal will receive your favorable consideration. Thank you for your time, compassion, and continued support for rural development.
Yours faithfully,
Krobo Odumasi Rural Farming Community
